This is the last of a fictional series that began with Edge of Peripheral & Decadance In The Dark. I have to give special thanks to Eris of Discordfor sparking my imagination with an incredible poem in the comments of and inspired by Edge of Peripheral.
Also many many thanks to my other amazing friends who requested I do follow up to the first in this entertaining little surreal fantasy.
I feel your gaze…a soft caress…
I see you between the pale light of the rising moon and deep shadows…
There and not there..
Waiting…
Come find me…
Dance this subtly surreal dance with me…
Decadence in the dark…
Let us stay in the hidden peripheral..
I, in the trance of twilight’s tempestuous temptation…
You, on the edge of everything and nothing…
There… not there…
Come find me…
Take my hand…
Rescue me…
I can almost see you
I know I don’t know you…
Simultaneously, I know everything about you…
You are in my dreams…
In my thoughts…
We meet there occasionally…
There is the known and unknown…
That magical seductive dance that ignites my imagination…
Recognition….
There you are…
Waiting for me…
On the edge of peripheral…

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 8,400 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 14 years to get that many views.
2. Acknowledge that blogger on your blog and link back.
3. Answer 7 sensual questions ( Most romantic memory, Most sensual music, Most sensual season, Favorite flower, Favorite fruit, Best gift received, Love is… )
4. Select 10 nominees and notify them on their blogs.
5. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
Most Romantic Memory:I had been in Portland, Oregon planning my wedding for a few weeks. My fiancé drove 4 hours (one way) after work, when he had to be back at work at 6 am the next day, all because he wanted a kiss. He got his kiss and then had to turn around and drive those long 4 hours back home to be able to get to work.
Most Sensual Season:I would say Spring. Everything returns to green, the days get warmer and flowers are in bloom all around.
Favorite Flower:Roses…red roses.
Favorite Fruit: Strawberries.
Best Gift Received:Surprise roses.
Love is…Unconditional…given freely with nothing expected back. Love is…putting someone else’s happiness above your own.Love is…THE most divine feeling in the world.
For some reason when asked to answer Most Sensuous Music…this video came to mind. Since I fairly recently came upon it, and it really touched me…not just the video but the lyrics and way it is sung as well…:
To me sensuality means the five senses….so with that in mind the following bloggers have touched one or many of my five senses (as I am sure they have with others as well) Therefore, my nominees for The Sensual Blogging Award are:
She sat staring remembering the beginning…
When the darkness enveloped her…
the darkness that permeated her everything…
~*~
Every moment…began to get brighter…
Slow and steady the light shone through…
Fought its way to her…
~*~
She tried to hide from it
complacent in the comfort in the deep black of her memory…
The light…
Finding its way through…started to brighten her world…
~*~
It was foreign to her…
She had forgotten what it felt like…
Warmth on her face…
surrounding her in its embrace…in its beauty…
One ray of light…then another…
Another and another…
~*~
Soon she could see again…
She saw smiles…
She felt the warmth of friendship…
She was inundated by the light…
She welcomed it finding new comfort here in its golden hues…
She sat staring…remembering when it dawned on her…
She knew…
It was the October Rose…
Many months ago I was speaking to AnElephant, please don’t think me daft or loony for I often speak to this particular Elephant. He spoke of writing about butterflies…then he did. I certainly should have known AnElephant could never forget! I am most assuredly tardy in my reblogging of his exquisite ethereal most excellent poem about butterflies…this is my way of saying thank you good sir…for being with me from the beginning…your steadfastness in friendship and sticking with me when I was only posting famous quotes.
You are by far my favorite most entertaining, loveable, brilliant, witty, remarkable Rhymster, fantastically funny, satirically silly Elephant! It is my honor to share this with my friends here at my blog-home. Huge hugs sweet friend! ~
once upon a time
I saw a butterfly
drifting
floating
flitting
whimsically twinkling
through the brightly hued garden
of life
making me smile
brightening my existence
alighting for but a moment
on each flower in my soul
eclipsing the radiance of each petal
nurturing my wonder
giving pleasure
and
happiness
* * *
by her very nature
her joy-bringing was ephemeral
but in that brief second
I savoured her magic
her elegance
her effortless grace
and I was lifted by her beauty
* * *
what a gift she inspired
just by being
what a gift to teach
with no word
the purest of all of life’s lessons
that which you cherish
but for a fragment of an instant
yet
which
enriches for all eternity
* * *
I held her for that fraction
and
watched the colours fade
too fast
released her
with a smile
with a tear
