Each night infused with insomnolence…
Fragmented Illusory images…
Each morning brings melancholic musings…
Daily demands dilute daydreams…
Rumination of life…
Daze of days…
΅〜 ೋღ ❁ ღೋ 〜΅
Haunted memories…
Beckoning me to remembrance…
In between the now…the then…the what may come…
Back and forth…
Here and gone…
Secretly disillusioned…
Transient thoughts…
Resolute promises disappear through the ethereal wish of a dream…
΅〜 ೋღ ❁ ღೋ 〜΅
Melancholy whispers…
Etching invisible scars…
Never ceasing…
Nevermore…

Rumination and the image definitely fit perfectly well together, as the images you choose always do.
I love the way you end this, written almost Haiku-like. A perfectly written ending to a fantastic poem. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Great poem dear Christina.
I enjoyed the imaginary and the way you have linked night with memories, mainly with regrets… (“Never ceasing…Nevermore”…)
I particularly liked these verses: “Haunted memories…In between the now…the then…the what may come…Back and forth”…
Another great point to highlight is the fact that you have chosen the same title that one of Edgar Allan Poe´s most well know poems.
Bottom line: Absolutely captivating.
Thanks for sharing sweet friend. Hugs from Aquileana 😉

Thank you so very much Aquileana!! Your unique insight and thoughts never fail to fascinate me…and it is always a treat to know which lines spoke to you!
Words do rattle around my mind and nevermore was definitely in there when I wrote this, just prior to you and I speaking of E.A. Poe! It is always intriguing when that happens! I did very much enjoy the reading you shared with me 🙂 Thank you again so much for your amazing thoughts and praise!! Sending happy wishes for an amazing week ahead!

A daze of days…that is such a prescient image but everything changes like your style of poetry from one poem to the next. This is a very mournful piece and is a very visceral one as well.
There is an edge to it, I like that…the feeling of yearning, of repeating of having had enough of the cycle. Of course all it takes is for circumstances to change and the Nevermore will become an Evermore and in a good way to boot!
I enjoy seeing all the different sides of your writing and perhaps this side doesn’t come out as often as it should but you never fail to move me in ways that makes me question myself and my life as well.

“Prescient” is a great word… and you are most definitely right in that everything does change, is cyclical. It does make me happy to know I could write in such varying ways. Also that each could be interpreted so differently…or as you shared, even felt in a visceral manner.
Edgy…I like that very much. I do think of late I am trying to branch out into different styles or tones, covering the rage of human emotion…to the best of my ability to do so anyway. To know it could have such an impact on you is thrilling to say the least.
I shall endeavor to keep up the emotional gradation in future pieces and hope that they, too, are not only well received…but perhaps felt intimately as well.

You have found your ‘voice’ in poetry Christina – that ‘delicate’ treatment of the language which I spoke of in my previous comment. Your words sound like you’re balancing them on the stanza-strands of a spider’s web.

A very moving piece once again Christina. I feel someone in this poem who is returned to the past in her dreams, but with the present moment and visions of the future weaving themselves in as well. I feel someone who wants to hold onto precious memories but is ready to turn her face forward to the sun’s beauty and the promises it may hold for her. Beautiful! 🙂

You never cease to bring me such encouragement dearest friend…and just when I need it! It is quite the challenge to not carry the past forward with us…and yet, perhaps this time year more than most…I am reminded of that very thing. Your encouragement for the future is so very treasured…as are you ❤❤❤!!

It is easy to say live in the moment and I try to do that, but our past defines who we are and our treasured memories evolved from our past. I know you will do what you need to do for you and your family, in your own time.
