Consume Me…

΅〜 ೋღღೋ     〜΅

It would be so easy to open myself to your love…

To fall fast and furious…

Fiercely intense chain reaction…

Combustion inside and out…

A mere thought of you the ignition…

My longing…my loneliness…my needs…the fuel for this fire…

This exigency flame enveloping us….

Your words caress from the inside out…

Ubiquitous desire…

Fulfilling yet….

Leave me aching….needing….wanting…

More…always more…

An addiction that is what you’ve become…

΅〜 ೋღ ღೋ     〜΅

Whether you will enhance me or destroy me remains unknown…

It would be so easy to discover which…

If only I could open the door to my soul and let you in…

Let you consume me….

  1. “An addiction that is what you’ve become…” well that line says it all about the way I feel for this blog… brilliant words once more… absolutely addicted to this site…

    • You, my dear sir always say the sweetest things! It makes me exceedingly happy to know my words could evoke such praise! Happy and honored and full of thankfulness for you!!

  2. That is magnificent. It is sensual and desperate whilst at the same time being reserved and fearful. The way you tell this as someone in love and yet scared to open fully as there is no going back, it takes a long time to shut that door once it is opened.

“It would be so easy …” perfectly written Christina.

    • Thank you so very very much sweet friend! It was one of those that sort of spilled out… Love it when you read something that ‘ignites’ the words! You are absolutely right….and yet if we do not open that proverbial door….well…is that worse than opening it? Conundrum.

      • I know what you mean about something you read and “ignites”. I finished that poem that was inspired by the post you shared.

The old adage “It is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all” I have told myself on more than one occasion that it hurts so much to lose that I would have preferred to have never loved, to have left that door shut. But to have never felt that? No, that door has to be opened at least once in your life because to have the feeling of loving and being loved by the person who loves you, is something that you will never ever forget no matter what.

        • Ooo did you post? I shall have to go see soonest, most especially since I am Mrs. Procrastination today here hanging with my peeps instead of doing things that are screaming to be done!

Too true about never forgetting.I have asked myself that question so many times. Never have given me an answer I much liked. I’ve asked others as well….their answers didn’t please me either. It is one of life’s mysteries and when it comes down to it I suppose that other popular quote “you regret what you didn’t do more than what you did do” comes to mind….Something to ponder. Perhaps… Hugs to you sweet friend!

          • You miss every shot you didn’t take.

I am writing that poem up today. I want to find a few images to go with it as my photos aren’t the type to go with this poem, it’s about what you can find in books. There are so many answers to the question that it is impossible to get a right answer. It is also impossible to get a wrong answer. It is one where the answer can only be felt

I think tomorrow I am going to give up with everything and just take time for me. Thursday should be changed to “Procrastiday”

            • I loved the poem and the photos you chose were perfect! 🙂 Too true about no right answer, and that it can only be felt…even then there is always risk. Some things are definitely worth the risk…
              Sounds awesome….I need a “Procrastiday”! #Desperately ha

              • Thank you on both counts 🙂 That poem is my most liked “non-page” page post of all time. My about page has over 300 likes, and that one post has more than a third that number. I have no idea why. It seems to have soared in a way others haven’t. All that from the inspiration of your post on Facebook.

                I think that’s sorted

                • That is awesome to hear so many people showed the love for not only your words but also for books and what can be found ‘between the pages’! 🙂 It does make me happy indeed that something I shared could have been the impetus for your post/poem! 🙂 As for the days of week…I say yes…yes please!!!

                  • I shall run for office and get the days changed 😀 That and free jelly babies for every Doctor Who fan 😉

  3. Hi Christina 😀 Wow that’s hot !! So much so that I am typing this inside my freezer. Can someone let me out……pleeeease !! 😉 Big hug my friend. Ralph xox 😀

    • LOL You do make me *giggle* and blush at bit as well! I’m all for being subtle…much like the ‘b’ the word ‘subtle’ which has always perplexed and simultaneously fascinated me. Have a cuppa your fav warm beverage sir and take deep breaths…I hear that fixes everything…. Maybe. 😉 xoxo

      • Hehe 🙄

Ah !! “subtle”.!! I Googled it and found :

1250–1300; Middle English. sotil > Old French. Latin> subtīlis subtile.

        6. sly, tricky, foxy, slick.
        from Unabridged

If #6 is to go by I can now understand why it has “always perplexed and simultaneously fascinated me” 😉

        I’m going with “foxy” 😉

No, a cuppa has not fixed my problem 😉 xoxox

  4. I love it. it is the unpredictable fire of passion, the reticence, almost fear of giving yourself up to that explosive feeling, knowing you could lose everything even yourself in that tumultuous cascade.

You say it with such red hot and wanton sexiness…yes I do believe I rather like this…

    • Ah, well now my dearest sir…how to reply when your comment has rendered me speechless? I fear I cannot find words that will do well enough…other than to say thank you so so much and I am exceedingly happy and smiling that you love this….

  5. Wow, you are the second person on the speakeasy to use love addiction in a poem with the prompts! I enjoyed this. I wonder if she’ll end up taking the plunge?

    • Aww, and I tried to be unique 😉 ! I shall chalk it up to “great minds and all that…” at least I’ll feel better lol.

I’m so happy you enjoyed this, thank you so very much for stopping by Stacie! I love cliffhangers…then everyone gets the ending they desire.

    • Thank you ever so much! I am truly honored by your praise and sharing your thoughts on this poem. It would seem even my fictional characters have a need to remain in control! 😉

  6. I must echo Bulldog’s words here, your blog has become an addiction, a delicious, intoxicating, unrelenting cascade of emotions that must be fed. You my friend are brilliant! 🙂

    • I am really speechless…sincerely! I can only attribute anything I write and continue to write to the incredibly amazing and so so very cherished support from so many awesome friends here offering me their encouragement and praise!! So maybe not so speechless hehe 😉 You’re awesome and I do treasure you so so much ❤❤❤!

  7. The image & words go hand in hand so well.
I see & feel the hesitation, the want & the fire ready to burst from within.
    #Hugs #Smiles #♥ #Blessings #HotHotHot #Sizzle #Fantabulous YOU

    • Thank you so so very much awesome sweet you!! Oooo you always say the most amazing and perfect things!! 😉

  8. So much passion, with so few words but OMG what wonderful words…”Ubiquitous desire”…… “An addiction that is what you’ve become”.

    • Thank you Peggy, so so very much! Your comment means the whole world to me, truly! It is my quiet little mission to not only express emotion via words, but as few as possible. So if I have succeeded…then yes, oh yes…your amazing comment has left me smiling and happy indeed!!!

  9. Wonderful poem. The unknown of whether something good or bad will come of the relationship really communicates the weight of whether or not trust should be given.

    • Thank you so so much!! I am sincerely happy you enjoyed this poem. I do very much appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Indeed it is this very unknown that drove me to write this…one of the many mysteries of life! 🙂

  10. “Whether you will enhance me or destroy me remains unknown…”

Ah, the very soul and essence of love. Beautifully put. Very well done. 🙂

    • Thank you so so very much Moontan!! I am most exceedingly happy you enjoyed this poem. Your beautiful thoughts are an honor to receive! 🙂

    • Thank so very very much Wendell!! You are always so kind and generous with your most cherished praise! Blessings and best wishes to you dear brother…for your weekend and week to come!

  11. One thing I love about your poems is, the unpredictability, it’s like peeling off layers and layers of deep seated meaning. I love this Christina! Good job. 🙂

    • Thank you so so much Seyi!! I do like that, very much….to be unpredictable…to be able to create a piece as you described…I am truly honored and smiling hugely! 🙂

  12. Hello dear Christina;

A very well written poem as per usual.. Very intense and passionate.. .

“This exigency flame enveloping us ]
    Ubiquitous desire…]
    Fulfilling yet”….

Truly powerful. Your words speak out loud, and they do it eloquently…
    Best wishes and happy weekend,

    Aquileana 🙂

    • Thank you so so much Aquileana! Your thoughts are always so appreciated and cherished! It always brings me a smile when you chose certain words or phrases that spoke to you more than the others. I am always truly honored by your praise sweet friend!
