It begins with a thought…
A revelation…
Usually bound in truth…
Then it propagates endless pieces of an unsolvable puzzle…
It worms its way through you…
Permeating Peace…
Replacing it with doubt…fear…
Insidious imaginings…
Every thought becomes tainted with it…
It increases exponentially…
Invasive…
Intruding every facet of your life…
Your dreams once made you strong…
Now they’ve become the manifestation of your subliminal madness…
Become waking confusion…
Conflict…
Psychological war…
Devastation…
΅〜 ೋღ ❁ ღೋ 〜΅
A small ray of light shines through…
Amber sunrise…
You feel its warmth reach for you…
You watch it ascend wondering if its golden rays can reach you…
So far buried in your darkness…
It whispers…
Beckoning…
Inexorably…

Wow … You can “see” the person in this. Falling down a shaft with no way of stopping. With whispers and insinuations coming out of the walls, whilst the person falls is screaming like some eternal nightmare. Almost seems like tears are no longer possible as they have all been spent falling down into the darkest depths. The way you describe that fall is so graphic that it can be felt.
And then in the bottom of that oubliette, a small sight of a light in the far distance and a call for help to it as it the fingers of the light move ever forward with you stretching forwards, afraid that the tips won’t reach you, that the shadows will drive them away.
This poem about a fall and then finding your way onto your feet again is the quintessential “you won’t keep me down”. I love it. It’s an excellent addition to the #Dreamscape The fall and then the rise. Fantastic

Wow…I’m stunned…I never know just how my words will be interpreted, what images or feelings they may evoke in others. I have to thank you around the world and back again for sharing your thoughts on this piece. Admittedly, I was nervous to post this one. I am working on a fledgling idea of incorporating what you and I have discussed numerous times…perception and interpretation of words (poems, written pieces), any words…not just mine, based on their upbringing, experiences in their own lives, etc. I can’t share more yet…spoilers! However, I wish to thank you again for sharing your thoughts and generous praise! I do so appreciate your continued encouragement and support sweetest friend! Hugs ~

It is a dark one, but if everything was light and hunky dory, then we wouldn’t appreciate the hunky dory when we got it. We do have to fall down this pit on occasion. I read somewhere that you have to reach rock bottom before you can really rebuild yourself into something stronger with all the pieces. That is what this poem reminds me of.
ooh I like that idea. I look forward to seeing how you pan it out. Speaking of Spoilers … he’s back this Saturday. The Doctor will see you now.
I love reading your poetry, there is always something completely unique in it. Something that you don’t see everyday. something that makes it seem like you have been writing poetry since you were five.

So true, and my thinking as well. Emotions are a rainbow…rainbows wouldn’t be near so beautiful if they were all the same color. I am honored if I could convey the message you shared. I do believe in that…about hitting rock bottom and rebuilding. I’m happy you like my teaser of an idea hehe. ~ Oh YES! I can’t wait for the premiere!!
You are awesome sweet to praise me as you do…which always brightens my world. LOL Poetry at 5…although believe it or not, that was about the time my infatuation with words began 😉

Haha so it was close then. “Words … what are words mummy? Because they are yummy and love what they do to my brain” 😉

The sunshine is key, finding it walking to it. I think this feeling, of worrying and struggling is one that a lot of people go through but once again you have written it in such wonderfully gritty depth that we can all empathise with. Perhaps thinking too much is a curse which blows things out of proportion but life turns in unexpected ways and there is always help.

Gritty depth…I hope that’s a good thing. If I’m to attempt my self-given challenge to turn emotions to words…I cannot only write of a few, I am compelled to write of them all. I agree with you and most fervently hope anyone who does know this feeling truly embraces the ending…which is to allow the sunshine in…and leave the darkness behind.

Gritty depth is a good thing, it makes your words feel more real, as if you are making us feel that emotion for the duration of the poem. I will not fail to remind you about your self-given challenge probably to the point of annoying you but I don’t just do it for my selfish needs…oh no! But I do it first and foremost so I can read your words because I think they are alright!

I am well cheered to know it is a good thing. And exceedingly happy if I can do as you shared…to affect emotion for the duration of a poem…that just leaves me feeling stunned and so so happy! I have not forgotten my self-given challenge…however, I do thank you for the reminder…which isn’t annoying, rather it is wonderful encouragement that I need to fill up with!

It isn’t just for the duration, it goes beyond that…your poems have the capacity to stay with a person for far longer than the reading.

For me this was a look back through my life, in my darker days, which thankfully I can now look back upon with clarity, without the pain. When forgiveness for my father was being sought, I could see the amber sunrise just outside my reach and when forgiveness was there to touch, to feel, that amber sunlight resonated within me. This was beautiful Christina!

It is a bittersweet feeling to have touched on something so personal, though I am so relieved it was a painless remembrance. It is with some knowledge, speaking obliquely, that this was written. Your words…such beautifully expressed thoughts make me just feel so amazing…that I could do as you shared, even more so that yes, indeed, the amber sunrise dwells within…and radiates ever outward. I do so very much cherish you dear friend!! ❤ ❤ ❤ ~
