Captivated…

You look into me…
Me into you…
We meet there in the middle…
Captivated…

 ΅〜 ೋღ ❁ ღೋ      〜΅

Need drives its own insistent desire to inception…
Embraced in this perfect moment…
Held by the enigmatic nature of will…
Unable to look away…
Locked in place….
Locked in time…

΅〜 ೋღ ❁ ღೋ      〜΅

Don’t look away…
Keep me here as I memorize your soul with mine…
Let us stay suspended in wonder…
Before Reality’s ocean rips us apart…

΅〜 ೋღ ❁ ღೋ      〜΅

We are helpless in its wake…
Fate’s cruelty using us as pawns for pleasure…
Neither here nor there…

΅〜 ೋღ ❁ ღೋ      〜΅

Our moment permanently fixed in the stars for all time…
Love…without completion…without end…

΅〜 ೋღ ❁ ღೋ      〜΅

Forever captivated…

╰⊰ This poem is the last in a series of four originally posted back in January 2013. For more information please see this post which explains my bringing #ThrowbackThursday here to my blog. This series marked a pivotal transition in my writing which shortly thereafter became known as my “Dreamscape”.

It is has been so much fun to look back in time this past week with you. Many of you have been with me from the beginning of this journey, some have joined my journey along the way…

I wish to extend, again, my gratitude and voluminous appreciation for each and every one of you. Your encouragement and support has truly impacted my life in so many ways I cannot even express.

Thank you…ever so much! ⊱╮

  1. I had been trying to remember what the last piece of Dreamscape was without looking back which I was tempted to do, but I wanted to experience these as if I were doing so for the first time.

Each piece of poetry on its own is excellent. The four together is beyond that. I could use so many words to describe what I think of this, so many synonyms of excellent, but I won’t. However, I will say that the way you tell this poem in your own unique way, the way you tell of a moment frozen in time as a person looks into the very soul of another, it reminds me of a book I read recently.

Thank you so much for sharing these with us again. I have really enjoyed looking back at this quadrilogy that marked a major change in your poetry.

I am exceedingly happy you enjoyed the surprise and the poems as well! 🙂 I am happy also that you are settling in back home…and that your vacation was great! 5. Well that was an awesome return journey through your blogging ways and has brought back so many memories and is proof positive that rereading is always a good thing.

‘Fate’s cruelty’ indeed, to be taken out of the fairytale is always a harsh thing, it really does demand that we always try to live in the good moments and treasure them. I’m as complacent as the next person but I will remember my experiences

Forever captivated is a great last line and one that all of your followers are, your moments, frozen in isolation of time are lyrical and well worth your blogs, I for one would welcome more sometime.

    • I’m proper happy you enjoyed this look back as well! Agreed, coming out of a fairytale is always a bit…disconcerting…to say the least. Remembrance of experiences is always a beautiful gift. Thank you for sharing your thoughts…it is a wondrous bewilderment to me to hear such thoughts from you and everyone, all of which I never cease to be honored upon receiving. I am, as ever, hopeful to share more…

  6. Mesmerizing and captivating, dear Christina.
I couldn’t avoid relating your post to 19 th century poetry.
And the first stanza is remarkable: “You look into me…Me into you…We meet there in the middle…Captivated”…You took my breath away with those verses.
Hugs and happy weekend to you,

  11. What can I say, your words are just like a fine wine, better with age, richer with each sip. I am spellbound by your words…”Don’t look away, keep me here as I memorize your soul with mine. Let us stay suspended in wonder, before Reality’s ocean rips us apart.” If you never wrote another poem (and please please continue to do so) my soul would be nourished by rereading those that have been penned before this. I will always be so grateful for the gift of your exquisite words, the blessing of you. 🙂

    • Oh LuAnn!! You do leave me so wondrously stunned dearest friend with you spectacular praise! I always struggle, as most of us do, to believe all the good when it’s so much easier to believe the bad things, the doubtful things. To write well is a wonderful feeling, to do as you shared…nourish a soul? That would have to be the pinnacle of achievement to me!!! I do appreciate you so much more than any word or combination of words could dare to do justice to…truly and sincerely *you* encourage me on…to reach higher…push further…do better ~ all of those are what drives me. And I fortunate enough to have sweet amazing wonderful you cheering me on….*that* is the greatest blessing of all! 🙂 ♥♥♥ ~
