Of Moonlight or Madness?

Night descends…
Thoughts roam….
Scattered….
Tossed about in Life’s dream of reality….
Or is reality the dream of Life?
Every one rushes, busy, manic, no time to stop….
To breathe…rest….rejuvenate….

΅〜 ೋღ ღೋ     〜΅

Serenity waits enduringly to be found…
Held….Cherished….

΅〜 ೋღ ღೋ     〜΅

Of Moonlight or Madness?
Moonlight evocative of Serenity’s peace…
Life’s hurried pace indicative of Madness….
Striving hard…
Working diligently…
To what gain?

΅〜 ೋღ ღೋ     〜΅

Shall we rest in the Moonlight…
Or be enveloped by Madness?

  1. Rest in Moonlight, definitely… I love your posts, and even get excited when I see a notification of one… dash over her, rushing, like a manic, no time to stop… just for that moment of magic that they always bring… and this one being no exception… I love this blog, totally addicted to the reconstruction of Christina…

    • Thank you so so very much!! This piece actually came from the title….though they usually do. I always have titles, it’s the rest that takes a bit haha! I am beyond thrilled you enjoyed this one!

  2. Those first five lines make me think of the red pill :- ) And there is definitely no time to stop. As soon as you stop, everything starts piling up and mingling together like the wires at the back of a TV making it take longer to start again.

But to stand in the moonlight? To be bathed in that nocturnal glow of quiescent placidity, (probably the wrong words lol) is preferable to the norm of frenzied turmoil that engulfs us the majority of time, but is hoped and wished for so we can be awash in the luminescent radiance.

I think you describe perfectly the everyday walk in life, attempting to find peace, even for a little while. I do love these poems you write, they are definitely ones that should go in a book for people to enjoy time and time again. Your poetry is worthy of repeated reading.

    This piece is beautiful.

    • Thank you so much Alastair! Your insight to this one is spot on…though your words were better….and I may borrow those phrases in the future (if you don’t mind 😉 ) Your comment read better than the poem to me! 😀 It is the Madness of everyday life that seems to get everyone down at one point or another. You are absolutely correct that if one stops….it doesn’t disappear…it grows….exponentially!

You are amazingly sweet to suggest a book, to share that what I write is re-readable….truly that means so much!! Sending my gratitude…for all the aforementioned, and for your awesome comment! You are the bestest at encouragement! 🙂

      • Well, this poem did create a poem in my head that I had to write down (on paper and not a #NoteApp )You can use anything I have said, after all, it is your blog 🙂 I stopped for the weekend, and I have had no chance to catch up. I have only done one post a day and not been able to visit as many as I wanted to. I suppose I will soon.

I am always happy to tell you what I think of your poetry as it is (as I have said before) unique to you. And always one that is worthy of a re-read. There are only a few people who I like to re-read their poetry, and yours is definetely one of them 🙂

          • If my encouragement means you create these beautiful pieces, then I will constantly encourage you. I thoroughly enjoy your words. The way you play with ones that are not the norm, not only bring the beauty to life, it also shows how language can be used in ways beyond what we are taught in schools

  5. Hello dear Christina…
Another great poem here. What caught my attention here is the Gothic influence. As your poem links here madness and night I couldn´t avoid thinking in Edgar Allan Poe´s poem “Nevermore”…
The last two stanzas have a great connotative effect, as they propose as a sort of disjunction which summarizes the whole poem
I also love the way you have structured the topics by asking questions ( “Moonlight or Madness?” / “To what gain?” / “Shall we rest in the Moonlight; Or be enveloped by Madness?”)
You do certainly have technical abilities to shape your boundless poetic images.
Hugs for your friday night and weekend ahead, Aquileana 😉

    • Aquileana, thank you so very very much for your amazingly sweet praise!! 🙂 It is interesting that you would pick up a Gothic influence…I have not read that particular E.A. Poe poem……yet…though I am working on one with the word nevermore….interesting that!! It is always such a awesome treat to read your thoughts on my poems. A wonderful dose of insight and encouragement!! Thank you again…and I hope you also have a wonderfully happy weekend! Hugs sweet friend! ~
