Very topical what with Valentine’s Day on the way. I like the two point focus , as I will term it, that you employ here…the words focussing on the ‘you’, the object of the poem and the split focussing of the reader on the ‘I’ of the poet. This is why I read your poems at least twice before trying to comment.
when you change to the we, I am unsure were you referring to women solely here or the being general as in we the people (see what I did there because you are American)? It works either way but I was curious to know which you intended or was the ambiguity always your plan…which wouldn’t surprise me either.
There are a lot of lines in this that stand out to me, lots and I love your universal contract of a right to be so loved as we do love. As a purveyor of positiveness and good attitudes, I put it to you that perhaps the I cans are in fact already I dos…

Is not ‘love’, the most priceless of treasures? It is not the power that once it embraces our hearts, humbles us in such an awesome way! It is the only treasure that controls your emotions, moving your heart from happiness to sadness and back to joy, while teaching you its true value, for when real love is there, you seek to always stay and learn to grow and blossom under its tutelage.
