Let Me Be….

Let Me Be...

~*~

Cacophony…Noise….Disquiet….

It is too much…

All of it…

Let me be still…

I want to think my quiet little thoughts in surround sound of silence…

Let comfort be my pillow and tranquility my blanket….

If words were my ocean…let me dip my toes into the pool of serenity….

let them swirl about soothing me…whisper intrigue…

as they entwine to form expression of emotion…

A thought…a feeling…a wish…

They encircle me filling me with wonder at their joining…

Fascination at their power…

Yes…please…

Let me be…just for awhile longer…

If I am very still…they come to me…dance for me…bring me tears…delight…placidity…

a quixotic smile at their unique denouement…

Yes…please…

Let me be…

  1. I love the way you write. I love the way you use words that most people wouldn’t and yet with you they are natural as if they were used everyday by everybody. You have been churning these out really fast of late and they are fantastic, magnificent. Some of your very best.

    Well done Christina

      • I will say (somewhat embarrassingly) that I do have to go and define some words that you use, and yet you slot them in as if they were “the”, “and”, “poetry”, “beauty” etc. As if they were everyday words and I admire that in you, plus the magnificence of the work you come out with. Keep it up my friend. I thoroughly look forward to reading your poetry.

  2. Speaks of the yearning to just be one with self ~ unencumbered by the distractions and stresses of daily living ~ escapism to a place of blissful escape. I find the blogging offers us this in such a unique way… and unlike writing in a private journal — there is something about knowing you have shared this sacred piece of yourself – your soul with the world… makes that “peace” or this “bliss” last a little longer — Beautiful work Christina ~ your writing has taken on a wonderful life of its own ~ So much love my beloved friend xo Robyn

  8. Indeed, the quiet is a warm, soft blanket against a cold and noisy world. Great song choice as well. There must be an answer…let it be.
