Edge of Peripheral…

Peripheral

~*~

I can almost see you
I know I don’t know you…
Simultaneously, I know everything about you…
You are in my dreams…
In my thoughts…
We meet there occasionally…
There is the known and unknown…
That magical seductive dance that ignites my imagination…
Recognition….
There you are…
Waiting for me…
On the edge of peripheral…

  1. Again you show why you are wonderful word-smith.

To see someone in your dreams occasionally would be sublime. Probably better than in person as there is no dinner to buy, money to spend 😉

Seriously though, another beautiful poem Christina. Thank you for sharing it with us

  2. Flitting here or flitting there
    Edge to edge
    Stair to stair
    I’ll watch you
    As you watch me
    Corner of the eye
    Where you can’t see
    Maybe I’m here and maybe
    I’m not
    But know you this
    I am besot
    Smitten
    Struck by your beauty
    And heart

    Mayhap we’ll meet
    In passing of the dark
    When light is scarce
    The mind on a lark
    A flicker on the edge
    A smile unseen
Perhaps one day I’ll dare to dream
    Of us.

    POST SCRIPT THING:

I had to do it. Your poem ignited the fire of inspiration and I had to answer in kind. Forgive me? I love words; I love your words, this poem is simultaneously sweet and eerie. It also does that thing where it says more with fewer words, so that it reads long but is actually short. I love that trick. The way the words are forged just flows right. Thank you for sharing this with us!

    • Forgive you? No….no reason, that was so beautiful!! Thank you? Oh Yes!! Because you have in turn ignited a sequel or two…can’t say…a girl has to keep her mystery…but stay turned 😉 As for loving words….we share in that as well…I love everything about them…using them in different ways to mean different things…just love it!

Truly, I am very honored that my words could inspire…and be so loved…you’ve given me a smile that will last for a long long time…thank you 🙂

  3. AnElephantCant believe
That Christina is still on the periphery
    Her words once more inspire
    Set imagination on fire
When does she emerge from her reverie?

    Brilliant.

  4. This is pure delight Christina. There is mystery and romance here — very exciting for the reader — and makes me want MORE!!! This can be a series for you … that “unknown” person waiting behind the curtains of destiny… waiting patiently for you… on the periphery for the perfect time to emerge. Consider a part II 🙂

Oh goodness – I am so happy to see you here and writing. And so agree this is: Brilliant —

  5. Yay a new post! Love this, it’s very haunting especially with the picture but at the same time, there are so many interpretations of your words and ideas and possibilities that flow from this for where it could go.

          • I must recriprocatively thank you as I don’t think I am to skilled as a writer but am hoping to remedy that this year with some proper work and I thank you also for your support.

  6. Cool…I came over to reply on a comment and look what we have here, your latest blog 🙂
If this poem is indicative of what you really dream about, I am oober jealous! Most mornings I wake up feeling somebody beat me with a club, puffy swollen eyes, and zero recollection of what I dreamt about 😦

LOL oober jealous….I wish I had dreams like this….but I guess more acurrately they could be called daydreams…fiction/fantasy….I think I wake up more like you….at least until I’ve had my coffee 😀

      • hahaha, nice try, but a person of your exterior cosmetic caliber does NOT wake up looking like a crazed mad scientist in the morning.lol
You let me know if anybody around you ask you this question in the morning, “OMG, what happened to you last night!!?”
