There I lay…
Sleepless night…
Lost in my distracted thoughts…
Unable to rest…to be still…
The mind rushes…
~*~
Sleep comes…softly…
Fleeting…threatening to vanish…
Toss and Turn….
Twisted sheets match my thoughts…
My dreams….don’t dream…
~*~
Please…sleep come…
Take me where I can dream…
Where I want to dream…
Don’t disappear…
~*~
Dreams come hard and fast….
Too fast…too elusive…
The mind rushes…
~*~
Please slow down…
I want to know you…savor your lucid images…
Revel in the falling…
Dreams sweet embrace…
~*~
I cannot dream…
Will not dream…
For fear of awakening…yet again…
Dreaded disappearance…
The mind rushes…
~*~
Sleepless night…

Great poem. So sad.
Have the Evils left?

Thank you sweet friend!!! 🙂 Sad because I’m not sleeping lol 🙂 I’m not sure if they’ve left….they were supposed to be gone by now. One can certainly hope! Just grateful I haven’t had to ‘interact’ with them. 🙂 Hugs ~

Any idea what’s causing you not to sleep?

Not really sure actually….I honestly wish I knew…

Could be worry that the evils weren’t really going? Worry in case they were planning on doing something before leaving, maybe?
Sleeplessness is awful, as it leaves you so tired during the day.

Yes, sleeplessness really is terrible. I’m hopeful things will settle soon enough. Not so much worried about them anymore. Feeling very free from them actually!!! 😀 Hugs sweet friend ~

Glad you’re not worried about them any more. Now that they have gone, they will no longer have any control over your life.
Hope you slept well 🙂

I so much feel for you. Your poem really describes insomnia perfectly! It visits me enough to make me never take a good night’s sleep for granted. Drifting off to sleep is always delicious to me.

This sounds terribly mundane, but often when we can’t sleep, we’re short of magnesium, calcium and zinc, all minerals which the body uses up big-time when we’re under stress… which you’ve certainly been.
if you wanted to know more, I could tell you….

this have been the best directly touching my heart and made me realize that i am not the only one who like to dream when asleep. I feel light,,no pressure and every sensation is intense in dream. Like inception I do encounter dream within a dream and moreover i want my parents to stop pushing me to be something becoz i see this world more like a dream..though i see this as a beautiful imagination to replace my reality

Thank you Christina for sharing with us this beautiful poem. When I cannot sleep, I sometime chant in my head OM followed by Shanti and this helps me to calm down. I also do the following breathing exercise: Inhale, hold for a few seconds (for as long as is comfortable)and then exhale, Follow this process for a few minutes then resume normal breathing, I find that this helps also. Good night and sweet dreams. Véronique
