Evermore…

There on a sandy seashore…
Waves crashing…
Warm gentle breeze…caresses seductively…
Softly blowing…playing with my hair…

I sit and stare…
Majesty of the sea…
Escaping reality…

All senses heightened…
Suddenly aware of everything…and nothing…

Watching…waiting…
Sand between my toes….
Salty spray envelopes softly…enticing…gently…

Tranquillity…
The sea whispers…

Secrets of the ages…
Eternal treasures…

Brought ashore for me to explore…
Gifts to see, touch, discover…
Cherish…

Footprints in the sand…
Trail of my journey…
Washed away…nevermore…

Till the next tide…

When there’s even more to explore…

Evermore…

  1. Christina your poetry takes my breath away. The collaberation between yourself and the very gifted Robyn Lee (Her beautiful photographs of sea and sand as the Ocean washes in its treasures) is a perfect match. Way to go both of you. I am so pleased to be the first to comment on the two of yours lovely post. Just wonderful!

    • My whole life I’ve watched, learned, and admired you and your various talents. Art, Writing,Business, Baking, anything and everything with so much talent. It is an incredible gift to have had you as my teacher/mentor/mom…and I am grateful for that every single day! Grateful for you, for your gentle (and sometimes not so gentle ;p ) encouragement to always strive for more, reach further, dream bigger.

You taught me that NOTHING is impossible….if we only try. I remember being interviewed for a school newspaper article in the 8th grade about who my hero was…it was you. Do you know what’s changed since then? Nothing ♥ !

Your genuine praise and pride in me and my newfound writing endeavors mean more than I can tell you. Thank you for always having my back, having faith in me when I didn’t, and for walking along side of me in this new journey…. I love and appreciate you so very MUCH ♥♥♥♥ !!!

On one hand it feels like I’m prying into your personal business, but I’m such a huge fan of beautiful stories, I can’t help myself…lol. This is the best mother/daughter story barr-none!
I was going to say something really nice about your above poetry but your mom raised the bar so high, I don’t want to embarrass myself attempting to one-up your mom’s complement…lol

Lets wait till exlaws leave town, maybe she’ll change her mind then…lol. Let me know if you need some reinforcement to convince her, I can be quite convincing at times…lol

I did think of putting one of those countdown special widget thingys on my blog to their moving away date LOL! :p

  2. Thoughts are never effortless, though they seem so. But the most sincere and honest of efforts are required to be in the state from where you can bring your thoughts to sing like poetry !

You are nearing it perfectly !!

  6. What a wonderful way to start the day!! I love your poem Christina…so personal, so deep, so open and accepting and full of hope and inspiration for all who reads it. I agree with Pretzellogic too… you choose words that are so perfect – understandable – YOU! I think that is what makes your poetry so special…. It’s like having you sitting across from us on the couch — over maybe a glass of wine — (cheese and grapes too) just pondering, sharing very honestly. I can feel your reflection of your own “story” in the poem so much ~ and still, it echoes hope and eager anticipation….joy that is waiting.

You are so genuine in spirit Christina – pure – it reflects in your work! And know how honored I am that you showcased my photo images as companion for your poem. I love the slideshow you created… It’s all just wonderful!! –” till the next tide”… I love that — and yes – there will be even more to explore…evermore — I am certain!!! Much Love to you dear one ~ xo Robyn

      • Oh yes – i forget the theme I selected always runs through a slide show of my posts on the home page!! I thought that was pretty cool when I saw it as a feature. You did great! This post was just fantastic. You definitely honored my photos with your vibrant and heartfelt words Christina. I think it’s so wonderful in many many ways. Yes!!! – someday we must have a wine/cheese/grapes (and bananas if Penny comes) picnic on the beach! How fun would that be!? So thrilled we could put this together and so spontaneously too (all because of your insightful comment on “walk with me” post!!) … Nothing could be more special to me. Much Love dear friend, Robyn
ps: i see there is a duplicate posting of my comment above – the 2nd one has one extra line ….must have sent before i finished the first time somehow – so feel free to edit one out!! xo

        • I love your theme, it is the perfect one to really make your pictures stand out…with nothing visually taking away from them!! I’m so sincerely grateful, honored, and just way beyond happy that you loved this piece. All the elements came together to form what is now my all time favorite post I’ve ever done!! Favorite poem, photos, everything!!! It’s different and I like that too…no quote this time…didn’t want anything taking away from “the look of it”.

I wish I had the words to express how fun this was…to look at your gorgeous photos and just let the words just flow through me…then putting the pieces together, the layout, it was just so enjoyable and fun!! 😀 I had genuinely hoped (and prayed) that you would love it as much as I did…and then you did!! So the whole experience was just beyond awesome!! 😀 You’re absolutely right….this was completely spontaneous! A spontaneous blessing 😉

Oh Yes!!! Someday I will be able to come for that picnic on that beautiful beach of yours and visit the majesty of the sea! Most importantly get to just visit with you while enjoying all the treasures all around us!! It sounds so amazingly perfect!! Now just need to remember where I put my magical checkbook with obscene amounts of money….Oh yeah, that was a daydream!! 😉 Seriously though, there is nothing I would love more then to make this happen for us all. You know mom would most def want to come too!!! Not only does she love the ocean…she loves you too! 🙂
Sending so much gratitude, appreciation and love dearest friend ♥♥♥♥!!!

  7. Lovely Christina, lovely words, lovely pictures ( thanks to Robyn )
I love the sea, especially when the weather is warm, just sitting there on the beach, listening to the sound of the water splashing, the waves crashing, the hiss of the spray as a wave pounds against the rocks.
Especially magic is the time betweeen 5 and 7.30pm, when all the holiday makers go home, the watersports centre closes, and all is quiet. the sun’s intensity lessens, the sea goes flat calm, like oil, and everything slows down as the world takes a respite from a hard days work, and readies itself for the next days endeavours.
It’s a lovely peaceful time, and I love it. .
Your poem reminds me of that time and I love that too 🙂
Thanks for posting this Christina and to Robyn for the photos
    love n hugs
